Privacy Policy

1. Operator and scope
JC Studio operates Wordbook (가림단어장), Android package com.jcstudio.wordbook, and this support website. Privacy contact: whdcjf8172@gmail.com. This policy describes the current Android app and the support website.
2. Learning data on your device
Books, words and definitions, favorites, examples and their translations, notes, recall ratings and review schedules, study selections and positions, preferences, drafts and trash are stored in SQLite on your device. The app has no account, sign-in, learning-content sync, advertising, in-app purchase or crash reporting SDK. Its own code sends the minimal install and launch statistics described in section 9. It does not automatically send learning content to an operator server. No feature requests contacts, location, camera or microphone access.
3. Files and pronunciation
Backup, import and export read or write files and folders you select through the system file picker. If you select a cloud drive, that provider may store the chosen file under its own policy. The app does not automatically upload your files. Pressing pronunciation passes the selected word to Android's text-to-speech engine. The app selects installed voices marked as not requiring a network connection; it does not use a JC Studio speech server or record your microphone. The engine provider controls engine installation, operation and device settings.
4. Email and website visits
If you email support, we process the email address, message and attachments you choose to send to investigate and reply. Send only what is needed. Cloudflare Pages hosts this site. Visiting a page can involve Cloudflare processing your IP address, request time and URL, browser information and technical logs for delivery and security. We add no separate visitor analytics script, advertising tracker or contact form. Hosting security features may process technical information. See Cloudflare's privacy policy. Learning-screen content is not sent to Cloudflare.
5. Providers and international processing
We do not sell personal information or provide it for advertising. Email, user-selected file providers, the system speech engine and Cloudflare may process information needed for their respective functions. Support email and website requests may be processed in countries where those providers operate, including the United States. Opening this site does not upload locally stored study content. We may process necessary records to comply with applicable legal obligations.
6. Retention and deletion
Learning data remains on the device until you remove it or clear app data. Deleted words and books remain in Trash until permanently deleted there. Drafts can be removed by saving the completed item or discarding the draft. Clearing this app's storage in Android settings or uninstalling removes its app-specific local data. Android automatic app backup is disabled. Exported files remain wherever you saved them and must be deleted separately. We cannot remotely recover or delete data held only on your device. We keep support correspondence while needed to resolve the request, then delete or de-identify it, except for records and periods required by law. Email-provider backups and Cloudflare security logs follow provider retention procedures; immediate complete erasure is not guaranteed.
7. Security and your rights
The app relies on operating-system storage access controls. This site uses HTTPS. We do not promise separate encryption of the SQLite database or exported files. Protect your device and backups. You may request applicable access, correction, deletion or restriction rights at whdcjf8172@gmail.com. Manage device-only data within the app or system settings because we do not hold it. We request only the minimum information needed to verify a request. You may also contact your regional data-protection authority.
8. Children and changes
The current app has no account or learning-content upload to an operator server. If we discover a child's personal information in a support request, we review the necessary protective or deletion steps. If functions or processing change, we update the effective date and provide any required in-app notice or consent process.
9. Install and launch statistics
Release Android builds send an app-specific random installation ID, a deduplication event ID, Android platform, app/build version and selected app language over HTTPS to Supabase to measure use and return visits. The server records first/last receipt times, Korea-time dates and launch counts. No account is required. These statistics do not include journal entries, photos, child information, email, vocabulary, examples, searches, location or advertising IDs, and are not linked to accounts or IDs from other apps. A random ID distinguishes returning installations and is not guaranteed to be fully anonymous. The primary database is in Seoul, South Korea; Supabase global network, support and security-log processing are separate. Only aggregate counts, not individual IDs, are sent to the operator bot. Statistics are retained while needed for service analysis and removed when that purpose ends or an identifiable deletion request is processed. Deduplication records older than 30 days are cleaned in limited batches when later events arrive; deletion within exactly 30 days is not guaranteed. Installation and daily counts currently have no automatic expiry. Uninstalling or clearing app data removes the local ID, not previously sent server statistics. Contact support for deletion or restriction requests. Email alone cannot identify an installation because the statistics are not linked to accounts; we explain what can be identified and the minimum verification needed.
